Expecto Patronum

I’m not gonna lie… I bought this mostly for the name.  I’m a huge Harry Potter nerd.  And I didn’t even start to like glitter until a few weeks ago, so I wasn’t expecting to, but I absolutely LOVE this!  It’s a sheer white base with different sized teal glitter, and though I couldn’t get them to show up in the picture, tiny orange flakes.  If you have the chance to get this, do it! It’s amazing!  I can’t wait for the next Dollish Polish restock!

Shown here is two coats of Expecto Patronum over two coats of Essie Marshmallow.  It only took one thin coat of Essie Good to Go to smooth it out.

The glitter does sink a bit, but it’s easily fixed by turning the bottle upside down.  The glitter is easy to get on the brush and goes on really smoothly.  I don’t have much experience with glitters (especially those in a jelly base like this), but I’d say this is great formula.

What’s your favorite Dollish Polish?  Or the one you want the most, but just can’t get your hands on?

P.S. Can you spot the single piece of purple glitter that ended up in my bottle? Love it!

  1. Looks lovely. I think I’d even try it and I’m not really into white polishes. Must investigate Dollish – have heard of them but never looked into it – figured they were one of those impossible to buy indie brands.

    1. Thanks! This one is pretty sheer, so in real life it doesn’t look so stark, it’s really nice. I’m not to big on white, either, but I absolutely love this. It’s very subtle and clean-looking.

Dollish has some great polishes, but they are pretty hard to get – this was the result of pressing the refresh button for four hours and getting really lucky – most of her polishes sold out in just a few minutes. But she’s having another sale at the end of the month, if you’re interested. I’m definitely going to try my luck at that one!
