Day 1 – Red – Angry Birds

Day 1 of the nail art challenge is red nails.  I wanted something simple, but still involving nail art.  After some searching online, I settled on ANGRY BIRDS!

They’re far from perfect, but at least they’re recognizable.  And I think they’re pretty good, especially since I don’t do a lot of nail art, and haven’t tackled anything like this before.  I don’t want to take them off (even though I only did one hand haha)!

Colors used: Essie Apertif (red), Orly Star Spangled (red glitter), Essie Blanc (white), Essie Licorice (black), and Zoya Pippa (yellow).  Sorry about the bad cleanup, my dry skin seems to have absorbed the red.

I actually really enjoyed doing these, and they were easier than I’d thought.  I was totally expecting to start over a few times, get frustrated and just do polka dots or something.  I’m really glad they worked out, and I’m hoping this challenge will force me to improve my nail art skills (especially now that I have brushes and dotting tools).

What do you think?

I’d love to see any nail art you’ve done!  Post links to your favorites in the comments!

      • I agree about taking them off! I stuck to the post-a-day version, so it was really sad when you’ve spent so long on a design! Thanks, I’m interested to see what you come up with 🙂

        • That’s what I’m planning on, but I know summer school and graduation weekend will probably get in the way.

This mani was actually really sad because they weren’t completely dry and I reached into the oven and they melted towards the middle of my nails. So they were ruined before I had to take them off 😦

And I just posted today’s mani if you’re interested!
