I only had a few ideas about what to do for today’s challenge, and finally settled on nails inspired by the song “Defying Gravity” from Wicked. I’m sure many of you are familiar with it, but if you haven’t seen it on stage, you’re really missing out! It’s the end of the first act, and probably the most visually amazing thing I’ve ever seen. The song is great on it’s own, but it’s really the lighting that makes it amazing.
These probably could have turned out better, but I think they get the idea across. This looked much different in real life. It photographed really bright, when in reality, the whole thing was much darker and the black was almost impossible to tell apart from the background.
I used Essie No More Film as a base, with China Glaze Smoke & Ashes (which is becoming my favorite black despite the shimmer), Essie Lapis of Luxury, Essie Navigate Her, and Kleancolor Neon Lime (which is really more of a highlighter yellow).
