Day 30 – Inspired by a Tutorial – Neon Splatter

I wanted to try something new for today’s design, so I turned to this tutorial by The Polishaholic.  These are pretty easy to do, but it took me a while to get the hang of the technique – these are my second attempt.  I really like how they turned out and I’ll definitely be experimenting with splatter nail art this summer.

I used Spoiled Correction Tape for the base.  This is quickly becoming my favorite white, which really surprised me, since I picked it up for a dollar and had been perviously using whites by Essie and OPI.  Correction Tape is actually much easier to work with, even though I’m not a fan of the brush.

For the spatter I used three of the six Kleancolor minis that come in their neon set.  I used Neon Lime, Neon Aqua, and Neon Orange.

After I messed them up (about 30 seconds after that photo was taken), I re-did them using Spoiled Visually Slimming as a base.  I think I like the black base a little bit better – it reminds me of these sunglasses from the 80s my aunt used to wear all the time!

Which version do you like better – white or black?

I can’t believe tomorrow is the last day of the challenge!

    • Me too! I was surprised the neons showed up on the black so well!

And for the second one, I put tape on my fingers like I do for water marbling and it really helped with the cleanup! The first one took forever to clean up. You can still see some polish on my skin in the picture haha 🙂
