Jeweled Orange

A heatwave hit Boston today, and I’m stuck in a 5th floor apartment with no air conditioning (aka hell).  The unbearable heat inspired this mani, which I think turned out great!  For me, it’s a little something different, since I don’t wear glitter that often.  This is definitely something I’ll be doing again soon!

I took my simple orange mani from yesterday and added a glitter gradient and I think it looks awesome!

And a closeup of the glitter so you can get a sense of how awesome it really is. LOVE!

ETA: Just realized I didn’t include the names of the polishes in this post! Sorry!  The base is Essie Fear or Desire, and the glitter is Windestine Jeweled Sand.

What do you think about this one? What’s your favorite glitter gradient combo?

    • I made sure to use only a little polish at a time, and not apply each “level” of the gradient in a straight line across the nail (you can see how the glitter on my thumb is uneven on the bottom). I did three layers of the glitter here, and let each dry before doing the next to avoid dragging the glitter. After I was done, I got a tiny bit of polish on the brush and dabbed it on in a few spots to even it out a little more. And topcoat makes everything look better 🙂 Hope that makes sense! Let me know if I need to explain more!

      • Thanks! I tried the glitter gradient with Confetti’s Tazmanian Devil (cheap, long lasting and applies very smoothly) on top of Sally Hansen Save the Date and LOVED it!!

        • I always pick up Tazmanian Devil in CVS, but I haven’t bought it yet! I might just have to try it now 🙂 And I am so glad it worked for you! Send me a picture if you can, I’d love to see it 🙂
