For the third day in a row, it is ridiculously hot here in Boston. It’s supposed to be the last day of the heat wave, though, and I am really excited about finally being able to sleep since I have no AC. Anyway, when I was searching for a polish to put on this morning, I came across this gem, and knew I had to wear it today.
This is Too Too Hot, which was released last summer in Essie’s Brazilliant collection. I picked it today based solely on the name, but I do really love this color. Which should be pretty clear by now, since I’ve already shown you about five almost identical polishes. This is a really bright red-toned coral. Perfect for summer!
Shown here is three coats of Too Too Hot with Seche Vite topcoat. It’s super shiny on its own, but I needed it to dry faster. I prefer Essie Good to Go to Seche Vite, but it was closer and I was being lazy today.
This is a great summer color, with a really nice formula. I tried multiple polishes before this one today, and the heat and humidity made them all impossible to apply. This one was still perfect. It applies really smoothly and really shiny. Even though it’s pretty opaque, it has a slight jelly effect.
As I mentioned, Too Too Hot is similar to Essie Camera, but it’s not neon, so this is a great option if you don’t want to go too bright. It’s similar to, but more red than butter LONDON Macbeth. It is almost identical to Essie’s Ole Caliente from this spring, but Too Too Hot is squishier-looking and much easier to apply. Of the two, this is my pick.
