China Glaze Jungle Queen, from the On Safari collection, is a dark purplish/grey/taupe base with a gorgeous purple shimmer. I love these kinds of colors, and this one is no exception. The base reminds me of Essie Smokin’ Hot, and I love the addition of the shimmer. It is very close, but not a dupe for the infamous Chanel Paradoxal, as you can see towards the bottom of this post from The PolishAholic.
The formula on this wasn’t too bad, but, like most of the On Safari polishes, it was a little thick. As you can see, I had a few issues with pulling, especially on my ring finger, so I’d recommend waiting a little longer than normal between coats.
This is two coats topped with Seche Vite.
Despite the minor formula issues, I really love this polish. Not that I was lemming too hard after Paradoxal, but Jungle Queen has killed any desire I had to hunt down a $26 polish. This is definitely a great option for the Paradoxal lovers out there (no one but crazy polish lovers like us will ever know it’s not Chanel).
