Today’s post (the last in the time warp challenge!) is inspired by a mani another challenge participant did. There has been a lot of really amazing nail art these past few weeks, but one of my favorites was this post from Kelsie’s Nail Files.
Let me just say: kudos, Kelsie, for making yours actually look like Marilyn. Seriously. I’d say that I’m pretty decent at nail art, but I could not make them look like Marilyn to save my life. This was my sixth try. The ones before these somehow ended up looking exactly like Elizabeth Taylor – no joke. I stopped at these because 1. they look more like Marilyn than any of my previous tries, 2. I was tired, and 3. I really love how they turned out anyway.
I love how cool and pop-arty they look. I think this is a brilliant idea and I had been meaning to try something like this for a while. Kinda glad I got that over with. And it was definitely good painting practice. Now you all know why I don’t do people/faces on my nails.
P.S. Sorry my finger is so shiny – my skin was so dried out from being constantly exposed to acetone I had to do something. Believe me, this is better than zombie fingers.
Also, make sure to check out everyone else’s manis for the last day of the challenge by clicking the link below. The challenge closes in a week and then we find out who wins! I would hate to be the one who has to choose the winner – there has been some phenomenal nail art these past few weeks!
I had so much fun with this challenge! But I’m definitely glad I can leave the nail art for when I really have time from now on (and not at 2 am after 10 hour work days). Still, I’m glad this challenge forced me to try things I wouldn’t have otherwise. Which day was your favorite?
