I’ve actually had this one my wishlist for a while, and finally picked it up a week or so ago. It’s actually perfect for fall, since oxblood is supposedly the “it” color this season. Mrs. O’Leary’s BBQ is a great color. It’s vampy, but its not so dark that it borders on black, and it goes with everything.
Even though this actually kind of does resemble barbecue sauce, the name actually stems from this incident, involving the great Chicago fire of 1871. Am I the only one bothered by the fact that OPI uses “BBQ” to reference a fire that destroyed an entire city and killed 300 people? Because… ew. I kind of wish I didn’t like this color so much.
This is two coats of Mrs. O’Leary’s BBQ with Essie Good to Go.
The second day of wearing this, I added an accent nail of Windestine Over the Rainbow, which is awesome. It’s basically a ton of different colors with gold and silver holo glitter – it’s so sparkly I can’t even tell what all the colors are. Definitely an indie brand you should check out if you haven’t already!
So what do you think about this color? And OPI’s polish names? While I think this one went a bit too far, I don’t think they’re all that bad, just a little cheesy.
