Advent Calendar Day 3 – Green

I absolutely love with how these turned out!  They’re two parts Christmassy, one part preppy.  They remind me of expensive wrapping paper.  For my green polish, I decided to go with China Glaze Glittering Garland.  This is the first time I’ve used it, and I really love it!  It’s gorgeous!  And I especially love the combination of the green and gold.  It’s definitely sparkly, but still sort of earthy at the same time.

I started with two coats of China Glaze Glittering Garland, and then stamped the deer with Bundle Monster Plate 214 and Essie Good as Gold.  I used the single deer stamp to make my own pattern and, while I could definitely benefit from some practice, I think it turned out really well.

This is one of those manis that is completely distracting – I can’t stop staring at my nails!

  1. Way cute! I am such a novice. I need monkey see monkey do photos like this to figure out how to even alter a stamp unless I just plain old mess up and find an OK way to salvage a goof! Also getting ideas on colors used helps me a lot. I have a ton of polish but I often will miss-judge one – like I like this on a forestry green vs. a bright China Glaze Jolly Holly base for example – but unless I realize the base shade you used is a more pine one, I would pull out a bright one. Right now and up to the very week of Christmas I am not always that comfy in major binged out bights for holiday nails – unless just plain with a plain accent one. I don’t want to look like a bad holiday sweater! Come the week of Christmas, then I am ready for all the go for it still typically unless I have a more formal party still to go to. Also many folks need more work friendly nail art vs candy cane white/red/gold/silver all flashing out. That said, many times just ONE nail with that kind of more flashy design is doable at many work environments.
