Plaid Cats

So, I’ve decided that it’s fall already. Despite the fact that if I put on a sweater right now I’d probably get heat stroke. But it hits ninety degrees here in January, so whatever. I just cannot stop using fall colors on my nails. This is another look I put together with some of the polishes from the new OPI, Essie, & China Glaze fall collections. I’m not sure how I feel about the metallic polishes together. They actually look really similar in indirect lighting because the pink one is actually a pink/bronze duochrome. So I feel like I liked these better in real life. But the cat nail is amazeballs, right? It was inspired by (who else?) Mr. Candiipantsplaid cat

I started with a base of China Glaze Change Your Altitude. The cats were painted with China Glaze Cabin Fever and Essie In the Lobby, which were also used in the plaid. I also used Essie Leggy Legend and China Glaze Free Bear Hugs to add a bit more dimension to the plaid nails. plaid cat

This isn’t my favorite plaid, but I love the cat polka dots. I also can’t get enough of this color palette. Can you tell?

Neon Cats

Yeah, this happened. Um, I guess my explanation is that I was playing around with some new neons after watching some Mr. Candiipants tutorials.  Also, I love cats.  That’s pretty much it.  And yes, the cat butt was completely necessary, and semi-inspired by this, which I think I need to do soon.

Both polishes are Sally Hansen X-treme Wear summer colors I got on clearance at Target – Blinding Blue and B-right On!

This is probably by far the strangest nail art I’ve done yet, but I really like it.  I might do some more cats in the next couple of weeks.

And the obligatory real cat picture.  This is Squirrel.  She likes hissing at other people/animals (which sometimes makes her snort), destroying expensive things (like my $80-a-piece MacBook chargers), and chewing off pieces of my hair while I sleep.  But isn’t she cute?
