Colorblind²

Today I’m showing you Dandy Nails’s Colorblind².  Like Colorblind in yesterday’s post, this has uniform black and white glitter – but the glitter in Colorblind² is smaller and square – awesome!  I have plans for an epic glitter gradient with this polish.

The swatch above is one coat of Colorblind² over Essie Mesmerize with no topcoat.  This one is a little easier to apply than Colorblind – no issues here.

These are my only two Dandy Nails polishes so far, but I will definitely be ordering more in the future.  The formula is good and I really like what I’ve seen of her polishes so far.  And I’m really loving the square glitter.

The Dandy Nails Etsy shop is currently sold out, but you can get updates and swatches of her other polishes on her Facebook page.

Colorblind

I got a request (from Erin Elizabeth) for some Dandy Nails, so today and tomorrow, you will be seeing her two Colorblind polishes, which are made up of uniform black and white glitter.

Today I have the original Colorblind, which is medium sized hexagonal black and white glitter.  There seems to be an equal amount of each in the bottle, but my white sunk to the bottom so it’s a little sparser on the nail in these pictures.  It’s a little difficult to apply, maybe because I don’t have much glitter experience, but the glitter lies smoothly and it’s easy to place them if you need to.

This is one coat of Colorblind over Essie Ole Caliente.  I forgot topcoat in these pics, so the bumpiness is my fault, not Colorblind’s – it lies really smooth and only took one coat of topcoat to completely smooth it out.

Dandy Nails has no plans for a restock at the moment, but you can get updates on her Facebook page.  She also has pictures of her other polishes there if you’re interested.

Love the black and white glitter?  You’ll definitely want to check out Chalkboard Nails’s B&W glitter guide!  I wasn’t all that interested in black and white glitter until I saw her post – and now I’ve already ordered three and have plans for at least two more!

What’s your favorite indie polish?

Graduation/Birthday Haul

Last month, I graduated from college and turned 23.  I had a little extra cash from gifts, and I pretty much spent it all on nail polish, so I thought I’d share what I got.  This is my first haul post, so please let me know what you like or don’t like (and if I should do this again).

I’ve already shown you some of these, but I was waiting for the last ones to arrive before posting.  You can click on the picture to see them bigger.

Top Row (L to R): Windestine Pansies, Jeweled Sand (mini), Hydrangeas (mini), Star Bright (mini), Jeweled Sand, Nails Inc. Tate, Westminister, Hampstead Gardens, Fashion’s Night Out.

Middle Row: Dandy Nails Colorblind², Colorblind, Dollish Polish Expecto Patronum, It’s A Me Mario, Sally Hansen Salon Effects Love Letter, Sephora by OPI Slushied.

Bottom Row: Sinful Colors Opal Glitter, Pearl Harbor, Go Go Girl, Spoiled Paying with Platinum, Visually Slimming, Correction Tape, Jewelry Heist, Essie Mojito Madness, Bikini So Teeny, Off the Shoulder, Fear or Desire.

My favorites are definitely the indies (I may or may not have ordered three more in the past two days), but I really like the others I picked up, too.  The Spoiled ones I got only for nail art because they were $1 each – I like them, but the brush sucks.  I couldn’t pass up the SOPI (which I’ve wanted for forever) and the Nails Inc. on sale for $5 at Sephora.  I was surprisingly impressed by the Sinful Colors polishes – definitely getting more of those soon.  I have no idea when I’ll use  Sally Hansen Salon Effects, but I had CVS Extrabucks and couldn’t resist the pattern of this one.  I’ve already swatched most of the Essies, but when I saw it in person, I decided to add Off the Shoulder to my collection, so you’ll see that one soon.

Which one of these pretties do you want to see first?
