I was looking on Design Seeds for color inspiration and came across this gorgeous springy palette. I started with the diamond nails, and didn’t know what to pair them with – I had originally thought to do something floral, but that seemed like too much work. Then I realized the colors would be perfect for this design by (who else?) Mr. Candiipants. I did a simple gradient on the remaining two nails, and ended up with this super awesome manicure. Love it!
The base color is OPI My Vampire is Buff. The green is Sinful Colors Innocent, the gray is OPI Suzi Takes the Wheel, and the pink and peach are Nails Inc. Mayfair Lane and Wellington Square.
Don’t be surprised if you see more fruit nails from me in the near future – they were much easier than I thought they’d be, and they’re just so adorable!
I am crazy excited for the Veronica Mars movie. I has a fan of the show back in high school, and I still have Veronica Mars marathons once in a while. I’m going to see the movie with my little sister tomorrow, so I thought I’d do some VM inspired nails.
I knew I definitely wanted to go with a VM signature: black leather. I used Nails Inc. Noho on three of my nails, and then added studs from Born Pretty Store. My other two nails are Essie Stylenomics, because I liked the idea of the dark forest green with the black leather. It looked less black in person.
Any other Marshmallows out there? If you’ve seen the movie, what did you think? I can’t wait!
I have a thing with typography, so I wanted to experiment with it a bit on my nails. Leave it to me to attempt the hardest version first. I can barely paint normal writing, so naturally I decided on some old English initials. Still, I think they turned out pretty well.
I used Nails Inc. Porchester Square on my index and middle nails, and then OPI Vant to Bite My Neck? on the other three fingers and to paint on the letters. And in case you haven’t guessed, those are my initials.
Hope you like them! I will definitely be doing some more typography nails, just maybe ones a little less complicated. I have some chalkboard writing nails in mind….
…Ok, not really. I just really love Adele and thought I’d get fancy with post names today. As I think I already mentioned, I love James Bond, so when I saw this stamping plate from Vivid Lacquer, I had to get it. And it is amazing!
I used OPI Skyfall on four of my nails (because I couldn’t not use a polish from the Bond Collection), and Nails Inc. Porchester Square on my index finger. I used Vivid Lacquer plate 007 (fitting, no?) and Sinful Colors Black on Black to stamp the iconic James Bond image.
I would highly recommend Vivid Lacquer plates. I only have three, and I use them more than any of my other 100+ plates. They’re really high quality, especially for an indie brand, and stamp better than most of my Bundle Monster plates. You can find them in the Vivid Lacquer Etsy shop.
When I want to do nail art but I’m lacking inspiration, the first place I turn is Mr. Candiipants. She is always original and is amazing at my two favorite nail designs: geometric and floral. These are her signature “bottle brush floral” nails, meaning they’re made with nothing but the brush that comes in the bottle. They’re ridiculously simple, and don’t take long at all to do.
For these, I used OPI My Vampire is Buff (one of Candice’s favorite polishes) as the base. It was a bit sheer and patchy, so it took three careful coats. I really love the color (it’s similar to Zoya Jacqueline). The flowers were made with butter LONDON Mollycoddled, butter LONDON Sprog, Nails Inc. Baker Street, and OPI You’re Such a Budapest, with OPI Eurso Euro in the centers.
Check out this tutorial if you’re interested in learning how to do these. I think I still need a little bit of practice to perfect this look, but I can already see this being my go-to nail design for spring and summer.
Fashion’s Night Out is easily the best metallic, and probably the best overall, nail polish formula I have ever tried. I absolutely love this polish, and based on this alone, I am totally sold on Nails Inc. and can’t wait to get more!
FNO was released last year (I think) for the Fashion’s Night Out event that takes place in major cities around the world to celebrate the fashion industry. The only reason I got this was because it was on sale for $5 and I needed a few more dollars worth of stuff to get free shipping. And I am so glad I did. Just look at it! It’s an amazing deep, smoky blue metallic polish. The only somewhat similar polish I have is Essie Over the Edge, but FNO is much more blue.
The best part? THIS WAS ONE COAT. That’s right, a true one-coat, streak-free beautiful metallic polish. I was amazed when I put this on. Well done, Nails Inc.
If you have a chance to get your hands on this, do it. Seriously. You won’t regret it. I might actually get a backup and I’ve only worn this once so far. It’s that amazing. I think it’s safe to say this will be my staple polish this winter.
For the past year, I have been searching for my perfect purple. I’m not sure if this is it, but it comes really close. This is Westminister from Nails Inc. I understand there is another Nails Inc. polish with this name, though I couldn’t really find much info about that.
This is a nice medium purple. It’s not too dark, and it leans a little more blue than red. I really love this polish! It’s a lovely color, and really easy to apply.
This is two coats of Westminister with no top or base coats.
I got this a few weeks ago on sale at Sephora with a few other Nails Inc. polishes. Keep in mind that these bottles are a little smaller than the typical full size bottle (like OPI or Essie). At Sephora, Nails Inc. polishes are $9.50 for .33 ml. I paid $5 each for my four bottles, but I love them so much, I don’t think I’ll mind paying full price in the future.
Have you tried Nails Inc.? What’s your favorite color?
