I just can’t stop using this fall’s Nordic collection from OPI. I have been wearing the polishes from this collection almost nonstop since I got them. The colors I used here are two of my favorites from the collection, because I have nothing else quite like them. Minty green and brown have been pretty standard nail colors for a few years, but I feel like OPI did a good job of making their versions a little bit unique, which seems to be pretty difficult to do nowadays.
I started with a base of My Dogsled is a Hybrid and painted on the design using How Great is Your Dane?. The formula on both of these is fantastic. I really like these colors together, sort of a more toned-down version of mint chocolate chip.
Have you picked up any of the polishes from this collection? What are your favorites?
I’ve been such a bad blogger lately – it’s been almost a month since my last post! Grad school has been kicking my ass, and every time I’ve actually had time to do nail art, I’ve just been completely unmotivated. But I’m back with a design using colors from OPI’s Nordic Collection for Fall 2014. It’s not as clean as I would have liked (I definitely think I’m out of practice), but I think it still turned out really pretty.
I have been obsessed with plaid lately – I just bought two pairs of plaid flats (which is completely crazy, I know). I thought some of the colors from this collection would make an excellent plaid. I started with a base of OPI My Vampire is Buff (not in this collection, but it’s a staple), and painted the plaid using Going My Way or Norway?, How Great is Your Dane?, Skating on Thin Ice-Land, Viking in a Vinter Vonderland, Ice Berg-ers and Fries, and My Dogsled is a Hybrid – all from the Nordic Collection. P.S. don’t you love OPI’s crazy polish names? They get more and more ridiculous each year.
Overall, I think this is a really great collection. I’m planning on doing some more nail art using the other colors in the collection, but no promises. There are a lot of really beautiful “fall” colors, and a couple of great brights thrown in. I think I may have finally found my perfect purple in Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm?, so I may have to use that one next.
